This week I visited the Consol Energy Center in Uptown Pittsburgh, August Wilson Center for African American Culture in Downtown Pittsburgh, Tim’s Bar in the Hill District, Greater Pittsburgh Coliseum in Homewood and Mitchell’s Bar in Oakland.

| ACH Clear Pathways and friends were holding it down at the “Women of Jazz” event held at the Consol Energy Center’s Lexus Club.

My first stop was at the Consol Energy Center at the Lexus Club where ACH Clear Pathways held their annual event called “Women of Jazz” featuring Teresa Hawthorne and many other performers. The purpose of ACH Clear Pathways is to enrich the lives of children and youth in the Hill District and is dedicated to the memory of Amon C. Harris.

| Bria Marie Petite received the “Illumination Award” for exemplary leadership in the community at “The 6th Annual Shyne Awards” held at the August Wilson Center for African American Culture in Downtown Pittsburgh. We congratulate you.

My next was at the August Wilson Center for African American Culture, where the Darkins Group held “The 6th Annual Shyne Awards” hosted by actor Pooch Hall from BET’S hit television series “The Game.” This event recognizes young adults from 13-19 for their achievements in positive things they are doing in their life.
My next stop was at Tim’s Bar in the Hill District where Blondie celebrated her birthday and got her party on.
My next stop was at the Greater Pittsburgh Coliseum in Homewood, where Ed held his annual Oldies “End of the Summer” Cabaret and everyone came out to celebrate the festive occasion.
My final destination was at Mitchell’s Bar in Oakland where Angie and the crew were a having a great time, while partying the night away.
