State Rep. Jake Wheatley, of the 19th District, and Renee Aldridge at the 10th Annual Community Appreciation Day held at Kennard Field in the Hill District.

My first stop was at West Park on the North Side of Pittsburgh, where the Northside Coalition for Fair Housing held “The 5th Annual Women’s Walk for Peace 2012” featuring hip-hop group Arrested Development. This event brought communities together for a peaceful march through the North Side to stop the violence in the communities and enjoy entertainment at West Park.

Danny and Carla continued the Whiteside Road Community Day at Tim’s Bar in the Hill District.

My next stop was at Kennard Field in the Hill District, where Jake Wheatley’s 10th Annual Community Appreciation Day was held. Community resident won different prizes including $500 towards their utility bills. There was entertainment, vendors and great food for everyone to have a great time.

My next stop was at Ammon’s Recreational Center in the Hill District, where the Whiteside Road Committee held their annual “Whiteside Road Community Day.” This event brought former residents from the housing project together to reminisce about how great it was growing up in the housing project. There was food and great music by DJ Griff and the black and gold T-shirt which set everything off.

My final destination was at Tim’s Bar in the Hill District, where Charlie celebrated his birthday in style with family and friends. Everyone who came out to help him celebrate, got their party and drink on that night.

You know Brotha Ash has a REAL CONNECTION to the community. Send all of your party and event information to info@BrothaAshProductions.com and I’ll see you next week OUT AND ABOUT!
