NOV. 1—The Carnegie Library of Pittsburgh will host their Business Program Series at 12:15 p.m. at the Downtown & Business branch, 612 Smithfield St., Downtown. The topic will be “Public Speaking: Tips, Tools and Techniques.” Dennis Snedden, of Time Management Services of the Carnegie Library, will facilitate this session and teach attendees how to prepare, practice and present more effectively; to increase one’s speaking comfort and confidence; and how to overcome fears and reduce nervousness. Listening to Your Business

NOV. 2—Chatham University’s Center for Women’s Entrepreneurship will host the Kauffman FastTrac Listening to Your Business seminar from 8:30 a.m.-12 p.m. at Chatham University, Gatehouse, Woodland Rd., Shadyside. This is a hands-on workshop designed to provide women business owners and managers with the critical evaluation tools and action steps needed to maximize the growth and profitability of their business. Leadership Breakfast

NOV. 4—Duquesne University’s School of Leadership and Professional Advancement will host its Leadership Breakfast Series from 7:30-10 a.m. at the Power Center Ballroom, 600 Forbes Ave., Uptown. The topic is “Advancing Women in Leadership-It Takes a Team.” This is the third of a four part series that explores what women need to do to make it up the ladder, how men can provide support, and the challenges women face. Outreach Meetings

NOV. 5—Port Authority of Allegheny County will host its Connecting to Disadvantaged Business Enterprises to Enterprising Business Opportunities Outreach Meetings form 9-11 a.m. at Port Authority of Allegheny County, Manchester Office Tower Board Room, 2235 Beaver Ave., Pittsburgh. These meetings are to inform DBE community of its online procurement system and how to do business with Port Authority. This meeting is geared toward Professional Services. QuickBooks Reports

This event will feature chocolate treats and blues/jazz music, along with a business expo to showcase products and services, provide networking opportunities, games and more.
