Business Leadership Session

NOV. 28—The Business Times and Comcast Business Class will host a free Business Class Leadership Session from 8:30 a.m.-12 p.m. at the CONSOL Energy Center, 1001 Fifth Ave., Uptown. This is an interactive forum exploring ways to inspire a culture of accountability at one’s company. This event is free for business owners, company presidents and nonprofit directors. Business Series

NOV. 29–The Carnegie Library of Pittsburgh will host their Business Program Series at 12:15 p.m. at the Downtown & Business branch, 612 Smithfield St., Downtown. The topic will be “Tricks of the Trade: Outsmarting Investment Fraud.” The FINRA Investor Education Foundation will present this 56-minute DVD documentary exploring who is at risk for investment fraud. There will be interviews with victims, securities regulators and fraud investigators to give information that will help to identify the persuasion tactics fraudsters use and the steps to take before making important financial decisions. Senior Entrepreneur Day

DEC. 1—My Mother’s House Project will host a Senior Entrepreneur Day from 10 a.m.- 4 p.m. at the Homewood Brushton YMCA, 7140 Bennett St., Homewood. This is for individuals 50 years old and older who own their own business or are gifted and want an opportunity to showcase their new products to sell. DEC. 3—The African American Chamber of Commerce of Western Pennsylvania will host its Annual Business Luncheon at 12 p.m. at the Omni William Penn Hotel, 530 William Penn Place, Downtown. DEC. 4—The Pittsburgh Impact Initiative will host a Pittsburgh Regional Alliance Private Equity Seminar from 8:30 a.m.-3 p.m. at the DoubleTree Hilton Hotel & Suites Pittsburgh, 1 Bigelow Square, Uptown. The seminar will include matchmaking sessions and topics such as private equity for growth capital, and mergers & acquisitions, an overview of private equity and more.
