(YourBlackWorld.com)–Many of us were aware of the challenges of Robin Roberts with Good Morning America. Roberts recently announced her return to the air after battling with a series of bone marrow transplants. Her recovery has been a source of inspiration for a nation that has joined her in prayer and wished her well.

Roberts was once an ESPN colleague of another respected anchor who is now battling an ailment of his own. Stuart Scott recently announced that he too is fighting against a form of cancer, which has returned to his body in recent days. Scott candidly mentioned his situation via Twitter to a public that is sure to rally in his support. His energy and vitality on the air redefined sports broadcasting for an entire generation.

“Blessed by prayers..I’m back in the Fight. C reared its head again. Chemo evry 2 wks but I’ll still work, still work out..still #LIVESTRONG.”

Scott’s original diagnosis came in 2007 when doctors determined that he had cancer in his appendix.   The discovery came while they performed an appendectomy on the host. After enduring chemotherapy, Scott says that everything was fine until 2011, which tumors were found in his small intestine. Scott received surgery and remained cancer free until January 14th, when he made his announcement.

“Thanks for prayers..ill fight w ALL C survivors & loved ones. Cancer wants to re-appear..picked the right guy cuz I HIT HARD all day long!!” Scott tweeted.

This man’s a fighter. Cancer may affect his body, but it can never conquer his spirit. Long live the legendary Stuart Scott.
