Open House
JAN. 23—The Graduate Enrollment Division of Robert Morris University will host a Graduate Programs Open House from 5-7 p.m. at Robert Morris University, Sewell Center, 6001 University Blvd., Moon Township. This is an opportunity to network and ask questions about how a graduate degree can boost one’s income, enhance one’s skills and help one change careers. There will be refreshments. A Second Step
JAN. 25—The University of Pittsburgh’s Institute for Entrepreneurial Excellence will host “The Second Step: Developing a Business Plan” from 7:30-10 a.m. at the University of Pittsburgh, Mervis Hall, Roberto Clemente Dr., Oakland. Participants will learn about operational and production planning, conducting market research and creating financial spreadsheets to attract funding for one’s business. Registration is required. Small Business Basics
JAN. 26—SCORE will host its Small Business Basics Workshop from 8 a.m.-1 p.m. at the PNC-YMCA, 236 Fifth Ave., Downtown. This is a highly interactive workshop geared toward aspiring and existing small business entrepreneurs. Experts will discuss business planning, record keeping and taxes, financing, marketing and legal aspects. There will also be an opportunity for confidential counseling. Registration is required. JAN. 28—LunaMetrics will host the Google Seminars for Success at the University Club, 123 University Place, Oakland. The seminar, which will run through Jan. 30, will explore ways to use Google Analytics to gather meaningful data, analyze it better and make one’s website perform better. JAN. 29—The African American Chamber of Commerce of Western Pennsylvania will host its Members’ Mixer from 5-7 p.m. at the Senator John Heinz History Center, 1212 Smallman St., Strip District.
