Alpha Weekend 2013
    MAY 24—The Alpha Omicron Lambda Chapter of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity Inc. will host Alpha Weekend 2013. The four-day event will include a Happy Hour at James Street Gastropub; Alphas vs. NPHC at the Thelma Lovette YMCA; Church with the Alphas at Mulberry Community Church; the All Black Everything Party at 3 Lakes Golf Course; and the Alpha Cookout at the Westinghouse Lodge.

Line Dancing
    MAY 25—The Community Empowerment Association will host the “Step In the Name of Love” Spring Fling from 8 p.m.-1 a.m. at 7120 Kelly St., Homewood. The evening will include Detroit and Chicago stepping, various line dances and lessons. Music will be provided by Roland Ford. Golf Fundraiser
    MAY 28—The Tuskegee Airmen Memorial of Greater Pittsburgh Region Inc. will host a Golf Outing at 9:45 a.m. at the Diamond Run Golf Club, Sewickley. The day will include breakfast, shotgun start, a reception and the ultimate cook out/dinner. The event benefits the Tuskegee Airmen Memorial. IMPACT Gala
    MAY 29—The Lamarr Woodley Foundation will host the IMPACT Pittsburgh Gala at 6:30 p.m. at the Fairmont Pittsburgh Hotel, 510 Market St., Downtown. Leadership Breakfast
    MAY 30—Dress for Success will host its Essence of Leadership Breakfast from 7:30-9 a.m. at the Omni William Penn Hotel, 530 William Penn Place, Downtown. Guest speaker Candi Castleberry-Singleton, chief diversity officer, UPMC, will speak on “Living with Power and Joy.”  Registration is required. Arthritis Walk
    JUNE 1—The Arthritis Foundation will host their annual Walk at 8 a.m. at South Side Works, 26th St., South Side. The walk will raise funds and awareness to fight the nation’s leading cause of disability. Registration is requested. Family Health Fair

Men Can Cook
    JUNE 2—The Community Economic Development Corporation of Clairton will host the Men Can Cook Event at 12 p.m. at the Clairton Park Pavilion, Clairton. Northview Heights
Reunion
    JUNE 7—The Committee of the Northview Heights Reunion will host “Grazin’ In the Green” the Old Northview Heights Reunion from 3-11 p.m. at Riverview Park, Valley Refuge Grove, North Side. The afternoon will include food, family, friends and fun.
Walk for Haiti
    JUNE 8—The Functional Literacy Ministry of Haiti will host the Great Shepherd Walk for Haiti at 8 a.m. at Highland Park, Sycamore Grove, Pittsburgh. This is a fundraiser to support the group’s educational and medical missions to the still recovering island nation. For more information, call 412-784-0342.
