(CNN) — Will Smith has been making more movies than music for a while now, but that doesn’t mean he’s done laying tracks.

As the “After Earth” star showed Letterman’s “Late Show” audience on Monday night, he still knows how to rock a mic – as well as spit all of the lyrics to his hit with DJ Jazzy Jeff, “Summertime.”

According to an interview with HipHollywood.com, Smith might have newer sounds on deck soon with a little encouragement from Kanye West. The two were spotted in a studio together in Brazil back in February.

“I’ve been messing around with Kanye, we went in the studio a couple times,” Smith said. “I might get the bug. I’m not going to do it unless I’m truly inspired, but ‘Ye’s been pushing me a little bit.”

Smith’s last studio album, “Lost and Found,” arrived in 2005.
