The Morning Star Baptist Church in Clairton celebrated their first graduating class from the Jerome Stevenson Bible School on May 25.

In 2009, the late Rev. Dr. Jerome Stevenson was given a vision from God to create a bible school. His vision was to make biblical learning available to everyone, not only for members of Morning Star, but for any other church and to turn the school into a four year fully accredited Bible School. The commencement ceremony took place for the 14 students who have completed the first four years studies on Genesis, Exodus Leviticus/Numbers, Deuteronomy and Joshua. This celebration featured members of the faculty, third  year students, the 2013 graduating class, a solo from Deacon Terrence Hammons, and the Commencement Address from Sister Robin Prince. During this ceremony Rev. Dr. Willie J. Thompson, Jr., Senior Pastor of Morning Star installed Sister Elaine Stevenson as the second president of the Bible School. After her installation, Stevenson conferred certificates on Bessie James, Irene P. Townsend, Sheila L. Walker and diplomas to Alice Flood, Lenora J. Graves, Sharon J. Gressem, Anita L. Hammons, Joyce N. Hammons, Joyce M. King, Lillian L. McClain, Lesa D. Mitchell, Robin D. Prince, Gladys Ramsey and Wendy L. Rice.
