Fashion Watch: Swimsuit shopping

The weather has finally heated up and people are heading to the pool, so what do you do if your body is not perfect for that little itty bitty polka dot bikini.

O’s summer fashion handbook says if you are plus-sized woman a suit needs to be sexy but practical: sturdy straps, a good bra and coverage for your back side. Try a swim dress, trust me it is sexier than it sounds, pick a suit that will emphasize your cleavage while concealing thighs, and please buy a sarong to match.

One piece swim suits will work best in a solid color with some interesting detail.

If you’re pear-shaped like our model you might like this cutaway style, this suit (Tara Grinna Swimwear, $139) accentuates what the model likes most (her small waist) and hides what she’s self-conscious about (her hips). It’s both sexy and demure definitely worthy of a trip to the Caribbean.

If you are small busted this is where the polka dot bikini comes in. The design will play up the bust line and make your legs seem longer. The one our model is wearing is retro and feminine.
