Youth Summer Expo

JULY 26—One Oxford Centre and Entrepreneuring Youth will host its Entrepreneuring Youth Summer Expo from 10 a.m.-1:30 p.m. at One Oxford Centre, 301 Grant St., Downtown. Guests will see firsthand the impact of entrepreneurial learning. Attendees will have the opportunity to purchase original artwork, crafts and other products from experienced youth business owners. Summer Safari

JULY 26—The Pittsburgh Zoo & PPG Aquarium will host its Zoo-La-La Summer Safari from 6:30-11:30 p.m. at the Zoo, 1 Wild Place, Highland Park. Flea Market Fundraiser

JULY 27—Pittsburgh Community Services Inc. will host a Flea Market Fundraiser from 9 a.m.-5 p.m. in the parking lot, 349 N. Craig St., Oakland. Proceeds from the event will go to the support of programs and activities designed to enable and empower PCSI low-income clients. For more information, call 412-904-4717.

Southern Summer Breeze

JULY 28—Champion Enterprises will host its Soft Southern Summer Breeze from 6 p.m.-12 a.m. at the Pittsburgh Center for the Arts, 6300 Fifth Ave., Shadyside. This is an old school party that will feature vocalist Sandy Green, along with DJ Sly Jock and a special honoring of WAMO’s legendary Brother Matt.  The evening will feature southern cuisine, a tour of the art gallery, music and more. Black Family Reunion

AUG. 2—The Community Empowerment Association will host its Black Family Reunion & Cultural Arts Weekend at Mellon Park, Penn Ave., Pittsburgh. The theme is “Advancing Our Agenda: By Building Urban Model Neighborhoods.” The weekend will feature a live concert by The Chi-Lites and Roy Ayers, along with other local acts. Sickle Cell Symposium

AUG. 7—Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh of UPMC will host the Sickle Celle Disease Symposium from 8 a.m.-4:30 p.m. at the John G. Rangos Sr. Research Center, Children’s Hospital of Pgh of UPMC, 4401 Penn Ave., Bloomfield. Topics for the symposium include Sickle Cell Disease and the Brain, Hydroxyurea, an Update on Pulmonary Hypertension in Sickle Cell Disease, and more. SummerFood Program

ONGOING—The Allegheny County Department of Human Services will host its SummerFood Program at more than 100 sites throughout the county. Children up to age 18 and intellectually or physically disabled individuals 19 and older will be eligible for a free breakfast, lunch and recreation program. Wilkinsburg Farmers’ Market

ONGOING—The Wilkinsburg Community Development Corporation will host the Wilkinsburg Farmers’ Market from 3-6 p.m. at the Parking Lot, between 732 and 744 Ross Ave., Wilkinsburg. The market will be held every Thursday through Nov. 21.

History Study Group

ONGOING—The Mind of Elevation Lecture Series will host the African History Study Group from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. at Duquesne University, College Hall, 600 Forbes Ave., Uptown. Every Saturday, through Aug. 17, guests can explore the attributes of the history, arts and culture of people of African decent worldwide. This event is free and open to the public.
