Paul Newmaster
This month, the team at The Renaissance Pittsburgh Hotel welcomed a new General Manager, Paul Newmaster, previously General Manager of Interstate Hotels and Resorts including Pittsburgh Airport Marriott and Marriott City Center.
Bringing 18 years of progressive experience in hotel management with Marriot properties, Penn Hills born Newmaster has already set high standards for his staff, the hotel and most importantly his distinguished guests, reflecting his impeccable hospitality pedigree. Paul began his career in 1995 with Interstate Hotels and Resorts’ Pittsburgh Airport Marriott and Marriott City Center. From there he moved to Shaner Hotels’ Pittsburgh Marriott Center and later Highgate Hotels, before returning to Interstate Hotels as General Manager.
Paul’s career boasts numerous accolades; including 2010 GM of the Year with Highgate Hotels and 2010 GM of the Year City of Pittsburgh. 2011 garnered him unprecedented recognition with multiple awards from the Marriott International for Leadership Excellence, Service Leadership Excellence, Community Service Leadership Excellence and Sales Team of the Year. Under his leadership, his hotel received the award of Revenue Team Leader of the Year consecutively since 2009. Among the many highlights, of special note was his instrumental contribution to the major conversion of Desmoines Iowa Savory Hotel to The Renaissance Savory Hotel.
