For the past 13 years, Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh of UPMC has been supporting the health and wellness of thousands of children throughout the community.
The Ronald McDonald Care Mobile, in partnership with Ronald McDonald House Charities of Pittsburgh, is a state-of-the-art pediatric primary care center on wheels. The Care Mobile is dedicated to improving health outcomes, promoting well-being and providing medical care for children in the community who are medically underserved.
The Care Mobile has been traveling to various communities throughout Pittsburgh and the surrounding areas, partnering with schools and other community organizations and providing a health safety net to children in the community who are unable to access health care.
Pediatricians, nurse practitioners, nurses and respiratory therapists from Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh provide medical care to children and adolescents who are unable to visit a doctor regularly.
All children, newborn to 21 years of age, can be seen on the Care Mobile with or without insurance. There is no cost to the patient or family.
The Care Mobile staff also can provide information about community-based health education classes. They offer information about healthy lifestyles and safety to parents, guardians and children.
