There are certain things that just go hand in hand: cereal and milk, peanut butter and jelly, chips and dip, FOOTBALL, and FOOD.

Not just any kind of food; greasy, messy, I wish I would’ve grabbed extra napkins, kinds of dishes. YES! Football Sundays are just an excuse to throw a party, eat and drink and be merry.

The food usually served up on football Sundays is not for the vegan at heart. Although I’ve consumed some mean vegetarian chilies in my day, football season is all about rolling your sleeves up, and cheering on your favorite team, while consuming a carnivorous spread of fall off the bone, saucy, and deliciously greasy dishes.

Wings, pizza and sandwiches are pretty much the official foods of football.

You may think to yourself that pizza and wings are simplistic, however there is an art to preparing that perfectly sauced wing, or that perfectly crisp pizza crust.
Boondas Hometown Pizza in West Mifflin has mastered the art!

Boondas is located at 5622 Homeville Rd in West Mifflin, conveniently located next to Carnivale Beverage, in that small plaza. It is owned by Johnathan Fetzko, better known as Boonda; a nickname he earned throughout his teenage years from his football coach.

Boondas has been in existence for 7 years, has been voted best pizza shop in West Mifflin, and has been awarded the silver medal from The Daily News.

Boondas offers a wide variety of foods, including 15 specialty pizzas, 50 different kinds of wings, and a long list of hoagies, sandwiches, and salads. I recently had the pleasure of sampling the fare.

My favorite flavor wing has to be Pittsburgh Ranch. The wing was crisp, and the sauce was buttery and spicy, and finished with the familiar taste of ranch! It was spectacular.

I also have to mention the pepperoni rolls, they were sensational, and the dipping sauce had a sweet finish.

If I had to mention everything that I tasted from Boondas that I enjoyed, we’d be here all day. Luckily for you, Johnathan, AKA, Boonda is offering The Diva discount to all who mention this article when placing an order. So the next time you’re wondering what to serve up at your football party, look no further than Boondas.
