Can a promising acting student survive his drama-filled life in Pittsburgh and make it to Hollywood?
That is the question viewers will ask as they watch Redwood Time, a new series developed by Carnegie Mellon University School of Drama students which is set to premiere its first episode, “I Like You, Like You,” Sunday, September 8, at 4:30 p.m. at McConomy Auditorium at the University Student Center at Carnegie Mellon University. Admission to the premiere is free and open to the public.
“I wanted to develop a series that was based on the lives of my friends and the sitcoms we grew up on,” said Clarence Williams IV, who created, wrote, directed, and helped produce Redwood Time.
Redwood Time is a fictionalized account inspired by actor Carter Redwood’s life (similar to Seinfeld, The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air, and Curb Your Enthusiasm).
The first episode of Redwood Time, “I Like You, Like You,” centers around the the chaos caused by a visit from Carter’s “love” interest. All subsequent episodes of Redwood Time will be launched on its YouTube channel (https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCD2kHyhpK_YdZLZmivqhweg?feature=watch) and official website: RedwoodTime.com.
