Foolishness of ­Preaching
OCT. 4—Mount Carmel Baptist Church, 90 Port Perry Rd., North Versailles, will host its annual “Foolishness of Preaching” Worship Services at 7 p.m. Pastor George A. Williams, of First Baptist Church of West Mifflin, will be the guest preacher. The service is designed to be evangelistic and focus on preaching that truly ministers to lost souls as well as growing Christians and leaders. Women’s Celebration
OCT. 4—Pentecostal Temple COGIC, 6300 East Liberty Blvd., East Liberty, will host its 2013 Women’s Celebration. There will be a Musical Extravaganza at 7:30 p.m., followed by a Healing for the Family Seminar on Oct. 5 from 9 a.m.-2 p.m. at Eastminster Presbyterian Church, and a Women’s Day Celebration service on Oct. 6 at 10:15 a.m. with guest speaker Evangelist Elaine P. Prayer Breakfast
OCT. 5—Garden City United Methodist Church, 500 Laurel Dr., Monroeville, will host the 4th Annual Women’s Prayer Breakfast from 9 a.m.-12 p.m. at Garden City Fire Hall #6, 600 Garden City Dr., Monroeville. The theme is “Women of God-Walking In A Relationship With God.” The guest speakers will be Kathy Svilar, of Grace Life Church, and Rev. B. DeNeice Welch, of Bidwell United Presbyterian Church. F.R.A.N.GELISM Month
OCT. 5—Sixth Mount Zion Missionary Baptist Church, 6556 Shetland St., East Liberty, will host its F.R.A.N.GELISM Month at 10:15 a.m. Each Sunday during the month of October there will be a special celebration. Anniversary ­Celebration
OCT. 5—The Center for Urban Biblical Ministry of Geneva College will host its 25th Anniversary Celebration from 10:30 a.m.-3 p.m. at Mt. Ararat Baptist Church, 271 Paulson Ave., East Liberty. The celebration will include a lecture by guest speaker Cleophus J. LaRue, PhD, of Princeton Theological Seminary, lunch, a preached word by LaRue and more. Registration is requested. New Church Location
OCT. 6—Orchard Hill Church, 2551 Brandt School Rd., Wexford, will host its Opening Church Service at 10:30 a.m. at the August Wilson Center for African American Culture. 908 Liberty Ave., Cultural District. The worship service will include a live band and biblical teachings by Dr. Kurt Bjorklund via video feed. There will be a Grand Opening Celebration on Oct. 13. Career Day
