PITTSBURGH (AP) – A former part-time stock worker has been charged with stealing nearly $5,000 worth of watches, clothes and other items from the Macy’s store in downtown Pittsburgh.

City police have an arrest warrant for 20-year-old Larry Harris Jr., of Penn Hills, who walked off the job Dec. 21 but used his employee identification number to enter the store three days later, stealing a watch and $800 worth of merchandise.

Police say Harris also entered the store Aug. 30 and Sept. 5 by standing among other workers outside an employee entrance. Police say Harris took nearly $4,000 worth of merchandise in those incidents.

Detectives contend Harris confessed to the thefts and returned some of the stolen items including socks, cologne and a backpack, but say he gave other items away and couldn’t get them back.
