Mayor-Elect Bill Peduto announced a complete restructuring of the Mayor’s Office that will include the most talented and diverse Mayoral cabinet in Pittsburgh’s history. The Executive Team announcement was coupled with the launch of the Peduto Transition Committee website — www.ournewpittsburgh.com — where you can find bios of team members as well as descriptions of their new job responsibilities starting in January. The transition website also includes a link to the Talent City website where — starting in mid-November — residents can apply for employment or appointments within the Peduto Administration.
“I feel very fortunate to have assembled the most talented and diverse Mayoral cabinet in Pittsburgh’s history, and perhaps the entire country,” said Peduto.
The announcement of the formation of the Executive Team was coupled with the launch of the Peduto Transition Committee website, located at www.ournewpittsburgh.com, which contains biographical information about members of the Executive Team and descriptions of their new job responsibilities starting in January.
The website also provides a link to Talent City, the program established through a partnership between The Pittsburgh Foundation and the University of Pittsburgh Institute of Politics, for residents to apply for employment or appointments within the Peduto Administration.
As previously announced, Mayor-Elect Peduto intends to run through Talent City all at-will positions outside of the Mayor’s Office (other than Solicitor), and prospective Mayoral appointments to Boards, Authorities and Commissions. All such openings are expected to be posted to the Talent City website by mid-November, to allow the oversight committee sufficient time to review applications prior to the commencement of the Peduto Administration in January.
“None of these Executive Team members are currently working for city government, and I believe all of them are taking a pay cut to work in my administration,” said Mayor-Elect Peduto.
“A few of the members are even moving back to the city to have the opportunity to play a critical role in building a new Pittsburgh.”
