Madden Tournament
NOV. 29—The Community Empowerment Association and the Coalition on Urban Affairs will host the Up Your Game Madden Tournament Challenge at 4 p.m. at the Arts, Cultural and Training Institute, 7120 Kelly St., Homewood. This is an anti-violence and human service campaign with weekly gaming tournaments aimed at imparting lessons about conflict resolution, reducing urban violence and giving young men a healthy, constructive outlet on the weekends. There will also be a Midnight Basketball Program at 8 p.m. Young men ages 12-25 are welcomed to participate.

Reindeer Ball
DEC. 1—Pittsburgh Mercy Health System will host its Reindeer Ball from 4-7 p.m. at The Westin Convention Center Pittsburgh Hotel, 1000 Penn Ave., Downtown. Guests will experience the musical “Christmas In Oz.” This will be an evening of dance, art projects, cookie decorating, dinner and more. Red Ribbon Gala
DEC. 1—The Educating Teens About HIV/AIDS Inc. will host its 9th Annual Red Ribbon Gala at 4 p.m. at the Omni William Penn, 530 William Penn Place, Downtown. The event is in observance of World AIDS Day and will include a reception, a silent auction, special guests, a celebration and remembrance of life ceremony, the red ribbon awards presentation and more. The awardee will be Dr. William Simmons, of UPMC Shadyside and president and chairman of the Gateway Medical Society. The event is black tie optional. Holiday Open House
DEC. 5—The McKeesport Regional History and Heritage Center will host its annual Holiday Open House from 12-5 p.m. at 1832 Arboretum Dr., McKeesport. There will be holiday themed trees, treats, unique gifts and more. There will be activities for children of all ages. The event will run through Dec. 9. For more information, call 412-678-1832.
Urban League Leadership Awards
DEC. 6—The Urban League of Greater Pittsburgh will host the Ronald H. Brown Leadership Awards Gala at 7 p.m. at the West Club Lounge, Heinz Field,100 Art Rooney Ave., North Shore. Honorees for the evening include Chris Moore for Civic Leadership; Dr. Jerlean Daniel and Dr. Jack Daniel for Community Leadership; and Tim Nettles of Enterprise Holdings for Corporate Leadership. There will be a silent auction and reception at 5:30 p.m. and a dessert reception and dancing at 8:45 p.m. Black Tie Attire is preferred. Reservations are requested. Queens Luncheon
DEC. 7—The Harriet Tubman Guild Inc. will host its 2013 annual Queens Luncheon at 11 a.m. at the Doubletree Hotel, 101 Mall Blvd., Monroeville. The event will include a talent show, a fashion show, a surprise gift and entertainment from the Flo Wilson and the Old School Band. There will also be vendors with great gift ideas for Christmas. Bistro Opening
ONGOING—Marva Jo’s Bistro will host its Opening at 320 5th Ave., McKeesport. The Bistro will open Fridays from 8-11 p.m. and Saturdays from 9 p.m.-12 a.m., and include unlimited desserts, coffee, tea, bottled water and more. This is a BYOB establishment and breathalyzers will be on hand. Entertainment will include Tony Campbell and his band, Aubrey Bruce, Marva Josie and more.
