This past August Patrice Alexander and Emmai Alaquiva took a week-long trip to Paris France. Alexander thought this was just a European vacation that was a first for both of them.
Little did she know that Alaquiva had paid a visit to her parents, Patricia and Glenn Alexander, to ask for her hand in marriage prior to the trip and that Alaquiva was traveling across the globe with a beautiful diamond engagement ring safely secured for a big surprise.
At midnight on Aug. 7, on bended knee Alaquiva proposed to Alexander under the Eiffel Tower and she said yes. Alaquiva and Alexander invited their friends and family to share their joy on Nov. 9, at an engagement party at the Savoy Restaurant.
As guests climbed the marble stairs lined with rose petals, there was a beautiful picture of the couple greeting nearly 200 guests. It was the same photograph that graced their most unique invitation. After their visit to the City of Lights they took a series of vintage inspired photographs that expressed their love for each other and their love of a bygone era.
Guests enjoyed scrumptious hors d’hoeuvres, and a beautiful and tasty cake topped with the Eiffel Tower. They are planning a fall 2014 wedding. Alexander is an English teacher for the Winchester Thurston Upper School and Alaquiva is a director for CBS Sports Network, CEO of Ya Momz House Inc. and founder of Hip-Hop on LOCK.
