Due to public safety concerns in light of frigid winter weather conditions forecasted for Monday, January 6, 2014, Mayor-Elect Bill Peduto announced today that his Inaugural Ceremony, previously planned to take place outdoors on the portico of the City County Building, will be moved indoors to Heinz Hall. Seating for the program will begin at 12:00 pm, and the Inaugural Ceremony will commence at 1:00 pm.
Immediately following the ceremony, the public is invited to participate in a reception at the Wintergarden at PPG Place, to meet the new Mayor and members of his cabinet, with complimentary ice skating.
Guests of the Peduto Inaugural are encouraged to bring canned goods to support the Greater Pittsburgh Food Bank, and to visit www.pedutofooddrive.com to make cash donations, a portion of which will be matched by the Pittsburgh Foundation.
Mayor-Elect Peduto and the entire Inaugural Committee appreciate the cooperation of city public safety officials, and the willingness of the Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra to accommodate the change in venue for the Inaugural Ceremony.
