Strategic Planning
JAN. 21—The University of Pittsburgh Institute for Entrepreneurial Excellence and the African American Chamber of Commerce of Western Pennsylvania will host the “Strategic Planning Workshop: Getting Your Business in Order for 2014” from 11:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m. at the Koppers Building, 9th floor, 436 7th Ave., Downtown. Ray Vargo, director of the Small Business Development Center, and Rhonda Carson Leach, director of the Urban Entrepreneurhip Program, will discuss the S.M.A.R.T. goals, which is a framework for setting goals used to evaluate where one is in their strategic business planning. There will be two-parts to this workshop. The first will include an interactive exercise to help determine how to be accountable to their goals. The second phase will feature how to identify and target the appropriate financial indicators for business growth and success. Registration is required by Jan. 17 and includes a box lunch.
