Alright all you Real Housewives of Atlanta watchers, what is the T (that stands for the talk) on Tags Boutique owned by Kandi Buress and her friend Peaches.
From time to time she mentions Tags on the show and after looking at the line of dresses I now see where these body-con dresses come from.
Tags Boutique had been in the making for several years. As longtime friends, Kandi and Peaches entertained the idea of opening a specialty boutique.
Armed with Kandi’s experience in the entertainment industry, coupled with Peaches’ retail and styling expertise, the boutique was closer to becoming more than just an idea. Tags took a few more years to get off the ground because they wanted to ensure their friendship wouldn’t suffer due to a business partnership.
We all know that old saying about mixing friendship and business.
Soon after, the powerhouse duo scouted metro Atlanta for the perfect location. While retail was taking a beating due to a shaky economy and the market was not in favor of new ventures.
The partners felt that opportunity is found in every difficult situation, which then sparked the concept of “luxury for less”! It only took a few months for TAGS to be fully up and running at West Village Shoppes in the Smyrna/ Vinings area.
Fast forward 3 years later, TAGS has gone through changes that brought successful growth. The company now boasts two corporate locations. The original Smyrna shop and sister store situated within the swanky Buckhead neighborhood.
In spring 2013, the company launched their first Franchise/Affiliate partnership in Augusta, GA, positioning TAGS as a brand and household name.
With customer service being the driving force in their business, TAGS is continuing to grow.
Kandi and Peaches have remained friends while enjoying the success of their business.
