Prayer Shut In

FEB. 7—My Sister’s Keeper will host its Women’s Ministry Prayer Shut-In from 11 p.m.-3 a.m. at Word Missionary Baptist Church, 134 8th St., McKeesport. Attendees are asked to wear comfy clothes, and to bring a pillow, blanket and bible. Women are invited to lie at the altar and share with their sisters in Christ. Concert Series

FEB. 8—Beulah Presbyterian Church, 2500 McCrady Rd., Churchill, will host its Music On the Hill Concert Series at 4 p.m. This is the first installment in the series and will include a performance of the Opus II String Orchestra playing favorite themes from Disney Classics. Love & Literacy

FEB. 8–Faith and Hope Community Outreach Ministries presents its 3rd Annual Love & Literacy Black Tie Affair from 6-10 p.m. at the Comfort Inn Conference Center in Penn Hills. The theme for the evening is, “Inspire a Love for Literacy in Adults and Children.” Brother Marlon, host of Pittsburgh’s WAMO 100, will serve as Master of Ceremony and DJ, and Diane I. Daniels, New Pittsburgh Courier business writer, will be the keynote speaker. A silent auction, dinner and dancing is a part of the evening activities. Urban League Sunday

FEB.9—The Urban League of Greater Pittsburgh will host its 29th Annual Urban League Sunday from 4-6 p.m. at Ebenezer Missionary Baptist Church, 2001 Wylie Ave., Hill District. The guest speaker will be Rev. Dr. Mark Tyler of Mother Bethel AME Church in Philadelphia, Pa., along with the Mt. Ararat Baptist Church Youth Choir. This is free and open to the public. Marriage/Family Enrichment Classes

FEB. 15—Pastor Andrew V. Jackson and Rev. Helen Jackson will host the 2014 Marriage & Family Enrichment Classes from 10 a.m.-12 p.m. at Webster Avenue Christian & Missionary Alliance Church, 2325 Webster Ave., Hill District. The theme is “Make a good marriage even better.” This 10-week session, which runs through April 19, will touch on topics such as Communication, Conflict Resolution and Relationship Stability. Financial Peace Orientation

FEB. 15—The Dollars and Sense Ministry of Rodman Street Missionary Baptist Church, 6111 Rodman St., East Liberty, will host its Financial Peace University Attendees will learn how to make a budget, how to get out of debt, how to communicate with one’s spouse about the finances, how to invest with confidence and more.
