The Kelso Lecture, in Honor of Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., is an annual event sponsored by Pittsburgh Theological Seminary’s Office of Continuing Education. Over the years, the lectureship has brought many well-known speakers to the East End, inspiring and challenging the region to keep Dr. King’s legacy alive.

This years guest lecturer was, Dr. Iva Carruthers, General Secretary, Samuel DeWitt Procter Conference, Chicago. Reverend Dr. R. Drew Smith, professor of Urban Ministry, Pittsburgh Theological Seminary, introduced Carruthers and Rev. Darnell O. Leonard, associate director, East End Cooperative Ministry, did the offering. Carruthers gave an enthusiastic speech entitled, “Radical Revolution: Ready or Not!”
