PITTSBURGH, PA March 10, 2013 Bidwell Training Center (BTC), an affiliate of Manchester Bidwell Corporation, will be honoring the 2014 Jesse W. Fife Jr. Fabric of Our Community award recipients, Ms. Mary Ann Eisenreich and Pennsylvania Women Work, on Wednesday, March 12, 2014 from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. at 1815 Metropolitan Street on Pittsburgh¹s North Side.
Every year, BTC selects awardees who embody the mission and vision of changing the lives of adults-in-transition in Southwestern Pennsylvania and demonstrate a significant and consistent contribution to the career training sector. This year¹s honorees are bound together like panels on a quilt. Ms. Eisenreich is being honored for her pioneering efforts with Pennsylvania Women Work and now as regional director of the Pennsylvania Governor¹s Southwest office. The organization she founded, Pennsylvania Women Work, exemplifies the values and mission of Bidwell Training Center by providing much needed support services and resources that effectively enable our students to complete training and become gainfully employed.
³No one achieves success all by themselves. Thank you, PA Women Work, for instilling a snippet of courage in me, for pointing out my many possibilities, and for nudging me down the path labeled Œmoving forward,¹² says Deb Difatta (Medical Coder, graduated May 2012). PA Women Work
referred Difatta, like many current students and alum, to Bidwell Training Center.
Presenting the 2014 Jesse W. Fife Jr. Fabric of Our Community award will be President and CEO
of Manchester Bidwell Corporation Bill Strickland.
Other Fabric of Our Community honorees have included the Reverend Doctor James J. Robinson, founder of Bidwell Cultural and Training Center; Jack Forsythe, new business opportunity analyst, Individual Marketing CAS, Bayer MaterialScience LLC; Mary Curet Duranti, director, Disabilities
Resource Center at UPMC; Scott Lammie, Chief Financial Officer, UPMC Health Plan and senior vice president, UPMC Insurance Services Division; and the John and Cathy Pelusi Family Fund. The award is named for the late Mr. Jesse W. Fife Jr., who received the award posthumously in 2011. During his long tenure as Manchester Bidwell Corporation¹s Chief Operating Officer, Mr. Fife strengthened the fabric of Pittsburgh¹s community by helping to create and nurture Bidwell Training Center, an adult career training center that has changed the lives of Southwestern Pennsylvanians over the past four decades.
This year, BTC will thank the following sponsors for their support of this event and BTC¹s commencement ceremony on Saturday April 5, 2014 at Rodef Shalom Congregation at 6:30 p.m. This year, City of Pittsburgh Mayor William Peduto will keynote the event.
