Black TV Ratings for Week of March 10 – 16
(March 19, 2014) Olivia Pope raised the fortunes of ABC again as the political drama “Scandal” held on to the No.1 spot on the Top 25 chart of favorite shows in Black households. The Thursday night leader showed an increase of 130,000 Black viewers and went to an 18.1 rating.
ABC was the week’s most watched network by Black households, knocking perennial title taker CBS to second place by winning viewers over on Sunday night. ABC had three Sunday prime time winners, while CBS dropped to two. The total audience for eight of ABC’s most popular shows on the chart was 11.6 million. CBS had 9.3 million for nine of its shows. NBC claimed 6.6 million across six of its shows.
The total number of viewers for the Top 25 programs in Black homes, according to Nielsen, was down six percent from the previous week to 3.1 million.
