Leadership Breakfast Series
MAY 13—The Duquesne University School of Leadership and Professional Advancement will host its Leadership Breakfast Series from 8-10 a.m. at the Power Center Ballroom, 600 Forbes Ave., Uptown. Dr. Gerald Groves will speak on the topic “Identifying, Developing and Creating Tomorrow’s Leaders Today: Leadership and Succession Planning.” A continental breakfast will be served at 7:30 a.m. Registration is required. Productivity With Google Apps
MAY 14—The Robert Morris University Bayer Center for Nonprofit Management will host the “Increase Your Productivity with Google Apps” at 9 a.m. at 339 Sixth Ave., Suite 750, Downtown. This two-part, hands-on workshop facilitated by Cindy Leonard and Steve McDonnell will teach how to increase one’s productivity and collaboration through Google Apps. They will cover the most commonly used tools including Gmail, calendar, contacts, Google+, Google Drive, and productivity Apps within Docs, spreadsheets and forms. Registration is required. Brown Bag Lunch Series
MAY 21—The Volunteers of America of Pennsylvania will host its Brown Bag Lunch Series from 12-1 p.m. at 1650 Main St., Pittsburgh. The topic is ‘Six Steps to Writing a Business Plan.” Eric Swift of Swift Advisors Business Consulting and Duquesne University’s Small Business Development Center, will teach the right tools to quickly and more easily write a business plan. He will demonstrate C.O.R.P.S.E., a step-by-step process of creating the plan. This is a free event and registration is required. Taxation Lunch and Learn
MAY 22—Robert Morris University will host its “MS in Taxation Lunch and Learn with RMU” from 11:30 a.m.-1 p.m. at the Robert Morris University Pittsburgh Campus, Heinz 57 Center, 339 Sixth Ave., Downtown. MAY 28—The Duquesne University School of Leadership & Professional Advancement will host its Personal Effectiveness Webinar Series from 12-1 p.m. The topic is “Leaders Navigating Change.” Facilitator Sonia Layne-Gartside, Academic Project Manager, will present this session focused on understanding workplace change and learning how one can thrive, both career-wise and personally. Participants will learn to develop ways to personally approach work place change and manage their stress and attitudes associated with the issue. Registration is required.
