NEW POLL SHOWS TOM WOLF HOLDING BIG LEAD IN DEMOCRAT GUBERNATORIAL RACE
The Franklin & Marshall College survey shows Wolf with a 19-point lead over his next closest competitor. Thirty-three-percent of those surveyed favor Wolf, with U.S. Rep. Allyson Schwartz next at 14 percent. State Treasurer Rob McCord had 9 percent and former state environmental protection chief Katie McGinty had 5 percent.
PHILADELPHIA ARCHBISHOP: ‘EVERY INDICATION’ POPE IS COMING
Vatican officials toured the city yesterday in advance of the World Meeting of Families in September 2015. Although Archbishop Charles Chaput believes Pope Francis will attend the event, he says nothing is certain until an official announcement from the Holy See months from now.
HERE COMES THE BLOOD
The University of Pennsylvania’s veterinary school operates a mobile van that visits various community events around the city to raise awareness and make it easier to garner canine blood donations. While dog blood banks are not unusual, Penn says its bloodmobile is unique.
SELLERS HOPE THOMAS JEFFERSON LETTER WILL FETCH $35,000
The Raab Collection in Philadelphia says the 1805 letter is from President Thomas Jefferson to his estate manager. The letter discusses Jefferson’s plans to divvy up his plantation among his grandchildren.

As in Pennsylvania teams remaining in the Stanley Cup playoffs. The Pittsburgh Penguins were eliminated last night, losing 2-1 to the New York Rangers. The Penguins blew a three-games-to-one lead in the Eastern Conference semifinal series.
