Neighborhood school brings diversity to shine in fun and timeless musical

Pittsburgh, PA [–The Colfax Cabaret opened strong with its very first musical performance featuring  Annie Jr. last weekend at the Pittsburgh Colfax Gymnasium in Squirrel Hill. Under the professional direction of Pittsburgh’s music artist, pianist and songwriter Bridgette Perdue, the kids of Pittsburgh Colfax were well prepared to Wow! the crowds with this Spring musical.
Annie Jr. is a family friendly musical that features a playlist of the timeless songs for which Annie has become famous. “The kids have worked tirelessly on this play.” said Perdue. “This is the very first musical at Pittsburgh Colfax and for many of the cast – their first time on stage, ever! I am very impressed with the talent on stage and excited, truly excited, to help bring this production to life.”
Pittsburgh Colfax is a melting pot in the Public School System. “We teach kids from neighborhoods all over the Eastern part of the city and from all over the world, really.” said Cabaret Producer and Pittsburgh Colfax Teacher, Lori Goldstein. “What makes Annie Jr. so awesome is that we are able to bring all of this diversity to the stage and highlight what makes us special as a school and a community. We are really bringing new life to Annie and we couldn’t be more proud.”
This middle school musical has been generously underwritten by the Pittsburgh Colfax Parent Teacher Organization. Pittsburgh Colfax is located at 2332 Beechwood Boulevard, Pittsburgh, PA 15217.
