The African Dance Conference
The Balation West African Dance Ensemble presents the Black African River Dance Conference at 8 p.m. at the Kelly Strayhorn Theater, 5941 Penn Ave., East Liberty. Master African dance and drummers from around the United States and Africa will collaborate to educate and amaze the audience. The conference will feature Master Drummers Fode Moussa Camara, Mamadouba Mito Camara and Assane M’Baye. RACE Exhibition
The Carnegie Museum of Natural History presents “RACE: Are We So Different?’ at 4400 Forbes Ave., Oakland. This exhibition looks at the ways science and human-history has intersected to form our understanding and beliefs about race. It explores the history of the idea of race, the changing role of science in that history and so much more. The exhibit will be displayed through Oct. 27. Live Jazz
The Rivers Club presents Wednesday Night Live Jazz from 5:30-8 p.m. at the Rivers Club, One Oxford Centre, 301 Grant St., Downtown.
