McKees Rocks man arrested in Northview Heights shooting

PITTSBURGH, PA – At approximately 11:28 p.m. last night, Zone 1 Officers were dispatched to the 700 block of Mt. Pleasant Road, in Northview Heights.
Upon arrival, police officers assisted security officers on patrol in the neighborhood in breaking up a fight. After separating the parties involved, the investigation revealed that one man had been shot in the groin while he and his brother attempted to defend themselves against an armed man.
The victim, a 36-year-old Black male from Northview Heights, was transported to UPMC Mercy where he is reported to be in stable condition.
The gunman, Blake L. Green, a 34-year-old Black male from McKees Rocks, was transported to Allegheny General Hospital where he remains in stable condition. Upon release, he will be transported to Allegheny County Jail.
In Green’s possession was a stolen gun, nine stamp bags of heroin and $150 in counterfeit bills.
Charges include simple assault, aggravated assault, possession with intent to deliver, and various firearm offenses.
Because Green is still in the hospital no photo is available.
