Metro Beat…Police investigating Homewood shooting

PITTSBURGH, PA – Pittsburgh Bureau of Police Homicide Detectives are investigating the shooting of a Black female this morning in Homewood.
At approximately 1:37 a.m., Zone 5 Officers were dispatched to the intersection of Chaucer and North Murtland streets where the female was lying in the street with a gunshot wound to her neck.
Medics transported the 54-year-old Fairywood resident to UMPC Presbyterian where she was last reported to be in critical condition.
The Pittsburgh Bureau of Police Homicide Squad encourages anyone with information that might lead to the arrest of a suspect in this shooting to call 412-323-7800.
MAN FOUND DEAD IN STRIP DISTRICT
PITTSBURGH, PA – A 56-year-old homeless white male was found dead in a parking lot at Smallman and 16th Street in the Strip District at approximately 1:40 a.m.
The Pittsburgh Bureau of Police Homicide Squad believes the fatality was related to huffing and does not suspect foul play.
