NO Limits
Kelly Strayhorn Theater and Chamber Music Pittsburgh presents No Limits with C Street Brass and DJ Jakeisrain at 7:30 p.m. at the Kelly Strayhorn Theater, 5941 Penn Ave., East Liberty. NO Limits is part of the East Liberty LIVE! series and is new recital program that challenges listeners to find something the group C Street Brass can’t do. Jazz Jam

The Greater Pittsburgh Community Food Bank and The Pittsburgh Blues Festival present the 20th Annual Pittsburgh Blues Festival at Hartwood Acres, in Hampton, Pa. The three-day event provides world-class blues and fun with performances from blues entertainers such as Bernard Allison, Dr. John, Albert Cummings, Spin Doctors and more. Reflecting on RACE
The Carnegie Museum of Natural History presents Reflecting on RACE with Terrance Hayes and Sheila Carter-Jones from 10 a.m.-3 p.m. at CMNH, 4400 Forbes Ave., Oakland. This special edition is part of the museum’s “RACE: Are We So Different?” interactive exhibit about race and society. They will lead this intensive poetry-writing workshop that explores and reflects this exhibit. There will also be sessions on Sept. 6 and Sept. 14. Space is limited and registration is required. The Alumni Theater Company presents “HAIR” at 7 p.m. at the New Hazlett Theater, 6 Allegheny Square East, North Side. The young ATC artists will bring unbelievable energy, skill and charm to this Broadway musical that’s set in New York’s East Village in 1967.
