Compton school board member Skyy Fisher was charged Thursday with the sexual assault of an unconscious victim reported several local news agencies and law enforcement officials.
U.S. marshals arrested Skyy Fisher, 31, sometime mid-afternoon on Wednesday in downtown Los Angeles, according to Dante Salazar, a deputy U.S. marshal.
On Tuesday San Diego County Sheriff’s Office issued a warrant for his arrest on suspicion of oral copulation of a person who was asleep or unconscious, U.S. Deputy Marshal Salazar said.
No other information has been released about the incident or charges that led to the arrest.
Fisher’s spokeswoman, Jasmyne Cannick said he had no comment.
The Los Angeles Times reports that Fisher was taken to San Diego County and booked at the Vista Detention Center. He was held on $100,000 bail and released Thursday.
Fisher’s tenure on the Compton Unified School Board of Trustees has been plagued with controversy for the past several years. A number of local city leaders and residents had called Fishers resignation after he was caught on a local radio program/podcast making anti-gay slurs referring to Trayvon Martin.
Fisher later issued an apology and took a leave of absence to address what he called “a range of personal and health-related issues,” posted on the Compton Unified School District’s website.
