Black Family Reunion
JULY 31—Community Empowerment Association Inc. will host the Black Family Reunion & Cultural Weekend at the CEA Arts, Culture, Training Institute, 7120 Kelly St., Homewood. The theme for the four-day event is “Quest for Social-economic Justice and Equality-Improving the Quality of Life for the Black Family.” This is a weekend of great food, music, information, health screenings, discussions and fun for the entire family. Thelma Lovette Memorial Service
AUG. 1—The YMCA of Greater Pittsburgh will host a Public Memorial Service for Thelma Lovette at 4:30 p.m. at the Thelma Lovette YMCA, 2114 Centre Ave., Hill District. Thelma Lovette, a community champion, died May 24 in Arizona. She will be honored for legacy. Reverend Dr. Johnnie Monroe will officiate and Rev. Dr. Ronald Peters will be the guest speaker. Enrichment Lecture Seminar
AUG. 2—Seshemet Community Council will host its Enrichment Study Group Lecture Series 2014 from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. at the CCAC Homewood Brushton Center, 701 N. Homewood Ave., Homewood. Unity Day Gathering

STEM Summer Program
ONGOING—The Homewood Renaissance Association will host its STEM Afterschool Summer Program from 9 a.m.-4 p.m. at the Homewood House, 7130 Frankstown Ave., Homewood.
