Community Flea Market
    AUG. 16—East-Tri Borough Neighborhood Association will host its annual Flea Market and Membership Drive from 11 a.m.-4 p.m. at the Homewood Salvation Army, 8020 Frankstown Ave., Homewood. Bowling for Evan
    AUG. 17—Kiana Slaughter will host Bowling for Evan from 12-4 p.m. at Fun Fest Entertainment Center, 2525 Freeport Rd., Harmarville. This fundraiser is to raise money for Evan who is an 8-month-old battling Pulmonary Vein Stenosis and is scheduled to have his third open-heart surgery. Operation HOME
     AUG. 30—The Urban League of Greater Pittsburgh will host its Operation HOME workshop from 9 a.m.-5:30 p.m. at the Urban League of Greater Pittsburgh, 610 Wood St., Downtown. This is an intensive homeownership program that equips potential interested homebuyers with a basic understanding of how to travel the path to mortgage qualification and maintaining homeownership. Back-to-School Drive
    ONGOING—The Community Empowerment Association will host a Back-to-School Supply Drive at the CEA Arts, Cultural and Training Institute, 7120 Kelly St., Homewood. They will be collecting school supplies for underprivileged students in the community. The supplies will be distributed Aug. 30 from 11 a.m.-3 p.m. at the Gazebo in Homewood, at North and Frankstown Avenues. DHS SummerFood Program
    ONGOING—The Allegheny County Department of Human Services will host its annual SummerFood Program at various locations throughout the count. The program provides a free nutritious breakfast and lunch, along with recreational activities, to children up to age 18 as well as eligible individuals with disabilities on weekdays.
