The Gospel Singer
The Pittsburgh Playwrights Theatre Company presents “The Gospel Singer” at 937 Liberty Ave., Suite 3, Cultural District. This play, written by C.S. Wyatt and directed by Montez Freeland, is the story of Isaac Dumont, a man who has received a cult following as Ruthie in The Eden Club, a jazz haven where his partner, Donnie, serves as emcee. Isaac dreams of singing gospel music, a dream that frustrates Donnie, who has lost faith in himself and God. Watch to see if Isaac can restore Donnie’s faith in God and people.
