Business Ethics Award Nomination Deadline
AUG. 29—Nomination applications are due for the Pittsburgh Chapter of the Society of Financial Service Professionals’ 14th Annual Pittsburgh Business Ethics Awards. The awards are designed to honor U.S. companies that demonstrate a firm commitment to ethical practices in their day-to-day operations, philosophies, and response to crises and challenges. Make It Happen
SEPT. 3—The University of Pittsburgh’s Center for Social and Urban Research and Institute for Entrepreneurial Excellence will host “Make It Happen Mon Valley” from 6-7:30 p.m. at the Carnegie Library of Pittsburgh Homestead branch, 510 E. 10th Ave., Munhall. This free workshop is designed to help individuals determine if starting a business is right for them and how to begin searching for the “right” business for them. An experienced business consultant from the university will guide attendees through the process.
