Kayla Key accepted as Leadership Fellow for Harvey Institute at Hampton

Kayla Key of Highland Park has been accepted as a Leadership Fellow for the 2014 incoming class of the William R. Harvey Leadership Institute at Hampton University in Hampton, Virginia.
The institute staff selects 25 incoming freshmen from a pool of nearly 200 applicants.
Key is a 2014 graduate of Vincentian Academy.
While at Vincentian Academy she was a  starting guard on the 2014 PIAA Class A Girls State basketball championship team, a member of the soccer team, and the cross country and track teams.
Kayla received many academic and community awards including Mother Catherine Spaulding Leadership Award, Vincentian Academy’s Burke-Monteverde Scholarship for Academic and Athletic Excellence, Northern Area Athletic Directors Tri-Athlete Award, Black Marathoners Athletic Scholarship, and the UPMC Student Academic and Athletic Leadership Award.
Kayla is an NCAA Division I collegiate track and field athlete at Hampton University.
The William R. Harvey Leadership Institute is an intense undergraduate program designed to develop leaders who will serve their workplace and community.
Upon completion of the program Kayla will receive a minor in Leadership Studies as she pursues a major in Broadcast Journalism.
She is the daughter of Emmanuel and Marion Key.
