Iggy Azalea’s ex-boyfriend-songwriter-producer is says the Australian rapper signed her rights away to him, giving him legal authority to market their sex tape.
Houston-based rapper/producer Hefe Wine says Iggy signed a lengthy agreement with him in 2009 that gives him exclusive rights to “manufacture, sell, distribute and advertise ‘any’ recording embodying visual images.”
Azalea signed the contract to cut records and music videos in her mind. But Hefe Wine is trying to do some linguistic acrobatics and somehow corkscrew the language to include distributing the sex tape and profiting off of it. He says all he has to do is put a music bed under the sex tape which he claims would then give him exclusive rights to sell it.
Put another way, Hefe believes Azalea has no legal recourse if the ex-boyfriend wants to sell the tape to Vivid Entertainment.
And here’s more: the contract provides that Wine has the legal right to create, host and maintain a website to market Azalea works, so he thinks he has the legal wiggle-room create a website which would facilitate the showing of the sex tape.
