Renewal/Missions Conference
    SEPT. 18—Bethany Baptist Church, 7745 Tioga St., Homewood, will host the 54th annual Spiritual Renewal/Missions Conference. The theme of the five-day conference is “Shake and Shine.” Events include a Youth Night, Panel Discussions, and special keynote words from Dr. Brian Johnson with Cooperative Mission Network of African Dispersion and Rabbi Jeff Kipp of Chosen People Ministries. Women’s Retreat
    SEPT. 19—Monumental Baptist Church, 2240 Wylie Ave., Hill District, will host its Women’s Retreat at Ligonier Camp and Conference Center in Ligonier, Pa. The theme is “Just Us.” The two-day retreat will include topics such as “Overcoming While Tarrying” and “Until You’ve Walked in Her Shoes.” Speakers include Prophet Rev. Patti Rucker and Rev. Women’s Conference
    SEPT. 20—The Women’s Ministry of Unity Baptist Church, 420 Fifth St., Braddock, will host its 2014 Women’s Conference at 10 a.m. The theme is “No More Excuses, Just Do It.” The lecturer will be Rev. Cora Suiter, guest preacher Rev. Linda Oliver and psalmist Avery Lawrence. Registration is requested and in lieu of a fee, attendees are asked to bring toiletries to donate to local women’s shelters. Play/Church Anniversary
    SEPT. 20—St. John the Evangelist Baptist Church, 4537 Chatsworth Ave., Hazelwood, will host the play, “God Always Makes A Way!” and its 105th Church Anniversary. On Sept. 20 at 2 p.m. the church will present its play written by Barbara Butler and directed by Diane Murray. On Sept. 21, the church will celebrate 105 years. The theme is “Holding Strong To Our Faith In God.” There will be a 11 a.m. service with guest Rev. Barry Long, followed by a 3:30 p.m. service with guest Rev. Hubert Hutcherson and his choir. Women’s Revival
    SEPT. 24—The Women’s Ministry of Carrone Baptist Church, 7119 Frankstown Ave., Homewood, will host its Fall Harvest Women’s Retreat at 7 p.m. The theme for the three-day event is “The Call, The Value and The Security of Wisdom.” The guest speakers will be Rev. Armenia Johnson, Rev. June Jeffries and Rev. Angela Jones. The guest praise teams will be the Nazarene Baptist Church Praise Team, Rev. Neighborhood Connections Day
    SEPT. 27—Beulah Presbyterian Church, 2500 McCrady Rd., Churchill, will host a Neighborhood Connections Day from 10 a.m.-1 p.m. The event will be held to connect neighboring communities and will include a book fair, free children’s activities and visits from community helpers. Friendship Luncheon
    SEPT. 27—New Birth Baptist Church, 406 W. Grant St., Duquesne, will host its Friendship Luncheon from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. Every fourth Saturday of the month, members of New Birth invite the community from the tri-state area to a delicious lunch, a clothing giveaway for the needy and an enlightening discussion.
