Power of Urban Radio Forum spotlights trillion-dollar black consumer market

Thursday, October 2, 2014 the 14th Power of Urban Radio Forum will be presented in Washington, D.C. at the Westin City Center by Kizart Media Partners, Inc. in partnership with the National Association of Black Owned Broadcasters (NABOB).

The 2014 forum will focus on the strategic importance of the $1 trillion African American consumer market. Managing Partner and Founder of Common Ground, Sherman Wright (pictured), will deliver the keynote address. Commonground has emerged as one of the leaders in multicultural marketing strategy with clients such as Coca Cola, Miller Beer and Verizon.
Edna Kane Williams, Vice President of African American Marketing for AARP, and Jim Colon, Vice President of African American Strategy at Toyota USA, will receive National Marketer Awards. Media Agency Activation leaders of OMD, Media Vest USA, Agency of Others, Lintas Campbell Ewald, and Optimedia will discuss and give insight into how they invest their client’s budgets.
Global marketing leaders from Tracfone, L’Oreal, Toyota USA, AARP, and American Family Insurance will discuss the strategic importance of the $1 trillion African American market. Erica Farber, President and CEO of the Radio Advertising Bureau will provide an overview of the radio industry. She will also lead a panel discussion with executives from Emmis, Service Broadcasting, Radio One, Perry Broadcasting and Clear Channel Media and Entertainment. Federal Communications Commission Chairman Tom Wheeler will deliver a special address.
Co-chairmen for the forum are Alan Leinwand, Vice President & Market Manager for Radio One, Jim Watkins, General Manager for WHUR and Steve Swenson, Senior Vice President & Market Manager for CBS Radio.
