The penal code casualties on Bravo TV’s “Real Housewives” franchise is starting to pile up.
“Real Housewives of Atlanta” star Apollo Nida is already serving eight years for defrauding the United States government — again — after just getting out from serving five years. Today, Teresa and Joe Giudice of the “Real Housewives of New Jersey” are being sentenced to federal prison for wire and bankruptcy fraud.
Husband Joe Giudice has been sentenced to 3-1/2 years in a federal prison for wire and bankruptcy fraud — but Teresa Giudice is still waiting to hear what her fate will be. After he is released from prison, Giudice is subjected to deportation since he is not a naturalized citizen.
In addition to the 41 months in prison, Joe Giudice must also pay $414,588.90 in restitution and enter an alcohol treatment program in prison, tmz.com reports.
Before slamming the law down on their skulls, the judge ripped into Joe and Teresa for lying to the federal government which had to dig up details they should have disclosed up front. By the time the judge was finished spitting them both up, Both Joe and Teresa Giudice had dissolved into tears.
The judge is deciding right now if she will sentence Teresa Giudice to time behind bars. If the wife does get prison time, the judge will stagger the sentence so at least one parent will be free to care for their four daughters.
Teresa Giudice is staring at at least 20 months in prison, and possibly more.
Stay tuned.
