PITTSBURGH, PA —The Board of Directors of Every Child, Inc. recently announced that Laura Maines has been named executive director effective Oct. 20. Ms. Maines will lead the organization in its efforts to ensure that children in and around Allegheny County have safe, stable, loving and permanent homes.
Maines has more than 14 years’ experience as a child advocate through her involvement with Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA) for Children; she is an attorney by training.
Board Chair Alex Lima said, “I am fully confident that Laura will maintain the momentum of Every Child’s current programmatic and community initiatives.”
Maines replaces Jesse McLean, Jr. who will become executive director for Western Pennsylvania at Pressley Ridge.
Most recently, Maines served as general counsel, director of funding and public affairs for Wesley Spectrum Services. A past member of Every Child’s board of directors, she currently serves on the boards of Renewal, Inc. and the Rotary Club of Bethel St. Clair.
Maines is a native of Illinois and graduate of Duquesne University School of Law. She resides in Mt. Washington, is an avid foodie and enjoys surfing.
