•    I don’t know about you, but I’m drinking the kool-aid.  I’m back on the horse.  I’ve circled the wagons.  When the going gets tuff . . . all those good ole sayings.  I’m bringing them all out.  Steelers do it again and “Say the Ravens Nevermore!”  We win this one and it’s time to start talking Super Bowl.  You want the truth, well you got it.  Now tell Superman, Batman and Robin too!
•    The first ever Achieving Greatness Awards, heretofore AGA, is set to go and I promise you this, it will be the most spectacular awards event in this city’s history.  Saturday, December 13th, 6:00 p.m. – 10:00 p.m., at the fabulous Blue Line Grill, 5th Avenue Downtown Pittsburgh across from the back of Consol Arena, featuring the Willie Stargell MVP Award . . . the Celebrating Women Awards . . . The Connie Hawkins Summer Basketball League Hall of Fame Inductees . . . and introducing the first time ever historic debut of The Pittsburgh City League All Sports Hall of Fame Inductions, recognizing and honoring some of the greatest athletes in Western Pennsylvania history.  Tickets $20 in advance.  $25 at the door.  Dress to impress.  Valet and street parking, 21 and over, cash bar, cash kitchen, after party starring The Legend Sly Jock.  First come, first seat, rooftop VIP Room.  Call (412) 628-4856.  THIS IS GONNA BE SPECIAL . . . MORE INFO COMING SOON.
•    Okay, by the way, if you want to kill your wife or girlfriend, apparently all you have to do is do it in Australia.  Oh, now I’m the bad guy . . . I told you you can’t handle the truth!!!
•    Even though Cortez Allen can’t cover a small bed with a large blanket . . . can’t watch the sun come up . . . plays the corner like Stevie Wonder . . . okay, okay, that’s all I got, but on the real (Remember we used to talk like that?) Coach Tomlin is going to have to hang in there with him.  One day we’re going to need him and he’ll rise to the occasion.  Count on it.  Champions always do!
•    Madison Bumgarner may not be the greatest pitcher in major league baseball history, but clearly he’s the only one to pretty much win three of the seven games by himself.  That my friends is the stuff legends are made of.  The Giants win.  The Giants win.  The Giants win!
•    For those of you that had the nerve to question me on the Steelers bringing back Brett Keisel and James Harrison . . . well, who’s your daddy now?
•    The Pittsburgh City League may not have many schools left, but the ones they have are still great and holding down the City League tradition and grand style.  Please continue to support City League athletics and our student athletes.
•    By the way, if you have a senior student/athlete set to graduate in June and he or she doesn’t have five colleges identified and contacted on some level, he or she is late, very late.  Let’s go parents!
•    The NBA kicked off Tuesday night.  Just go with this and trust me.  San Antonio squares off for the West title and Cleveland and Miami will get it on in the East . . . it’s meant to be.
•    Health Tip — baked is better for you than fried.  It just is!
