Monday Night Football was No.1 but Black cable viewing dropped 18% for Top 25

Black Cable TV Ratings for Week of October 20 – 26

(October 30, 2014) ESPN’s “Monday Night Football,” the perennial favorite for most watched cable show in Black households, returned to No.1. But viewing for the Top 25 cable shows was down 18 or five million viewers for the third week in October, with only eight shows claiming a million or more Black watchers.
VH1 was the week’s most watched cable network among the Top 25, with five million across four shows. Second place went to OWN for 3.2 million over three shows. ESPN took third with 2.9 million viewers for just two shows.
According to Nielsen, the total number of viewers for the Top 25 favorite shows in Black homes was down five million from the previous week to 23.2 million.
