Go Red Fashion Show
    NOV. 13—The American Heart Association will host its 2014 Go Red For Women Fashion Show at 7:30 p.m. at the Westin Convention Center Pittsburgh Hotel, 1000 Penn Ave., Downtown. The theme is “Fierce, Fit, Fabulous.” Enjoy an evening of fashion and inspirational stories. Appetizers and shopping boutiques will be available at 6 p.m. Registration is required by Oct. 29. Fashion Show
    NOV. 15—The Junior League of Pittsburgh will host its American Girl Fashion Show at 11 a.m. at the Pittsburgh Field Club, 121 Field Club Rd., Fox Chapel. The show is a fun-filled event for girls, their families, friends and favorite dolls. Guests will enjoy a colorful presentation of historical and contemporary fashions, refreshments, door prizes and more. Proceeds benefit the League’s initiative to empower and educate children. Hill of Hope Gala
    NOV. 15—The YMCA of Greater Pittsburgh will host its 7th Annual Hill of Hope Gala from 6-10 p.m. at the Marriott City Center, 112 Washington Place, Uptown. The theme is “Embracing Community Diversity.” The gala will celebrate the rich cultural history of Pittsburgh’s Hill District and highlight the role of the YMCA in the African American civic and cultural life in Pittsburgh. Several local leaders who are working to revitalize urban commu­nities will be honored. Also, Andrew Frazier, a longtime activist, will be recognized with board emeritus status. Keepers of the Flame
    NOV. 15—The Legacy Arts Project will host its 8th Annual Keepers of the Flame Awards at 7:30 p.m. at the Hill House Kaufmann Auditorium, 1825 Centre Ave., Hill District. Culture makers of Pittsburgh’s rich African and African-American heritage will be recognized for their contributions in art, social justice, education and visionary leadership. This year’s honorees are Chico Butler, Dr. and Mrs. Johnson, Helen Baynes, Joyce Meggerson-Moore, Poggie Bell and William “Oba” Wells. Community Conversation
    NOV. 17—The Black Political Empowerment Project, the Alliance for Police Accountability, the Urban League of Greater Pittsburgh and others will host a Community Conversation with Pittsburgh’s New Acting Police Chief Cameron McLay from 6:30-8 p.m. at Pentecostal Temple COCIC, 6300 E. Information Fair
    NOV. 22—The Fund for the Advancement of Minorities through Education (FAME) will host an Information Fair from 10 a.m.-12 p.m. at the Kingsley Association, 6435 Frankstown Ave., East Liberty.
