I support a revolution, but not one of fire and destruction. Allow me to clarify the kind of revolution I support.
Ferguson, Mo. is 65 percent Black and they complain that the city does not hire Blacks, very few Blacks have appointments to high positions, schools are inadequate and practically the police department is all White. But only nine percent of Blacks vote in Ferguson, Mo. To begin to register and vote in record numbers is revolutionary! It is not an absolute answer, but it is a positive beginning.
They could elect a mayor, council members, judges, police chief, fire chief, sheriff, district attorney and school board members. The people of Ferguson have the potential to change the news headlines across the nation from “Burn, Baby Burn” to “Learn, Baby Learn, we have now become sophisticated voters”.
