Pastor’s Wives’ Black History Achievement Awards

The Pastor’s Wives of the Churches of God in Christ Second Ecclesiastical Jurisdiction of Pennsylvania celebrated the accomplishments of people in recovery, those who support them and other distinguished leaders of volunteerism at the fall annual Black History Achievement Awards Banquet on Oct. 27 at the Airport Marriot Hotel in Coraopolis.

This year’s theme was “Join the Faces and the Voices for Prevention & Recovery: by fostering music and song communication between tweens, their parents and seniors about alcohol and drugs. Speak up, sing songs of prevention, reach out, play music of recovery.”
HONOREES—Sheila Carter and Robin Spencer

Along with several award presentations, the evening included a fellowship hour, and entertainment by instrumentalist Derrick Redd, soloists Melessie Clark and Mark Bennell & the Jazz Music Political Symphony Orchestra. There was also a presentation of the official Pennsylvania Anti-Drug song.

The banquet was a part of a daylong recovery conference that took place earlier in the day.
